SMPC among top companies in 2019 ACGS Awards

Semirara Mining and Power Corporation (SMPC) was recognized as among the top-performing publicly-listed companies (PLCs) in Southeast Asia during the 2019 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) virtual awarding ceremony organized by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Institute of Corporate Directors on January 29, 2021.

SMPC was a recipient of the ASEAN Asset Class, a recognition for ASEAN PLCs that scored 97.5 points and above or 75% of the maximum attainable score of 130. The recognition is featured in the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum website.

The ACGS is a globally-benchmarked scoring system designed for improving the corporate governance performance of PLCs from participating ASEAN countries. The 2019 ASEAN assessment results are done by comprehensive peer review annually, where the Philippine PLCs are independently assessed by counterpart corporate governance experts from the ASEAN region.
