Education and Skills Training

Semirara Mining and Power Corporation believes that education will secure a better future for the island’s youth and their families.  Thus, the company provides scholarships to deserving students, and pays for the tuition and fees of workers’ dependents enrolled at the Divine Word School of Semirara Island Inc. (DWSSII). It builds classrooms and facilities to provide the schoolchildren, an environment conducive to studying and learning. It is supporting DWSSII to be K-12 -ready by tapping Semirara Training Center, Inc. to supplement the Senior High School teaching requirements for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) academic track.

Skills training is an integral part of the Company’s commitment to improve the lives of the people in our host communities. We provide the residents with the skills and knowledge that will allow them access to jobs and favorable employment.
